GreenEduLARP: A Revolutionary Approach to Environmental Education

AeliaPath, in collaboration with the Erasmus+ Program, has developed an extraordinary approach to environmental education called GreenEduLARP.

What is GreenEduLARP?

GreenEduLARP is a unique educational tool that integrates environmental education with live action role-playing (edu-larp). This methodology provides students with immersive experiences, allowing them to take on various roles and tackle real-world environmental issues in a simulated environment. Through this, students not only learn about environmental sustainability but also develop critical thinking, decision-making, and collaborative problem-solving skills.

Objectives of GreenEduLARP

The primary goal of GreenEduLARP is to create a transformative learning experience that promotes sustainable development and encourages active youth participation. Here are some key objectives of this program:

Pilot Program Success

The pilot implementation of GreenEduLARP at the 1st Gymnasium of Neapolis in Thessaloniki has demonstrated remarkable success. Students participated in a scenario where they played roles in a fictional town council debating the future of a polluting factory. This immersive experience allowed them to understand the complexities of environmental and social issues, and navigate the decision-making processes involved.

The feedback from the pilot program has been overwhelmingly positive. Students expressed significant satisfaction with the educational game, recognizing its impact on their knowledge and skills related to environmental protection and municipal governance. They reported feelings of enthusiasm, curiosity, and pride in their participation, highlighting the program's effectiveness in creating a deep and engaging learning experience.
